Violet Blitz (she/her) is a Boston-based audio engineer and musician working in live sound, recording studios, theater, and film.
Originally from Bethesda, MD, she now lives in Medford, MA after graduating from Tufts University. She majored in Music, Sound, and Culture (with a concentration in Music of the African Diaspora) and minored in Music Engineering and Film and Media Studies. She has eleven years of percussion experience as a jazz vibraphonist, rock drummer, orchestral percussionist, and marching band drum major.
Her hobbies of tabletop game design, film production, and science fiction writing also motivate her interests in contemporary composition, interactive sound art, and experimental recording techniques.

Violet is currently working as an Audio Video Engineer at the New England Conservatory of Music, recording classical and contemporary concerts alike. She's also freelancing on the side, working with local bands including Sunnydaze, Saint Cecilia, and Dollbait, volunteering with Orkest, and composing for a few upcoming short films.
